KPK Reveals Efforts To Eliminate Document Evidence At The Ministry Of Agriculture Office: Arrested, Destroyed

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that there were documents that were deliberately raided so that they would not be detected when investigators ransacked the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) office on Friday, September 29.

"We'll tell you the progress later. The suspicion is that it was later raided, destroyed," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, October 2.

Ali said the destroyed documents were related to the corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture which was being investigated.

"It means that what we should get as evidence becomes difficult," he said.

"Although we already have sufficient preliminary evidence to go up to the investigation process, including searches elsewhere we have also found many documents related to this case," he continued.

In the future, Ali ensured that the destruction of the document would be investigated. This deepening process coincides with allegations of corruption that is being investigated.

As previously reported, the KPK revealed that there are three clusters of investigations into alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) that are being handled. The details are extortion related to positions, gratuities, and alleged money laundering (TPPU).

The anti-corruption commission does not want to detail the suspects in this case. Even so, it was reported that the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono, and Director of Agricultural Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta were dragged into this case.
