50 Thousand Liters Of Clean Water Given To Residents Affected By Drought In Jeneponto

JAKARTA - The Jeneponto Red Cross (PMI) Jeneponto Regency has distributed 50 thousand liters of clean water to residents in four Jeneponto sub-districts.

"The thousands of liters of clean water have been distributed since August 28, 2023, throughout September 2023," said Head of PMI Jeneponto Regency, Islam Iskandar, Sunday, October 1.

He said PMI Jeneponto helped residents affected by drought, including those in Bangkala, Kelara, Bontoramba and Tamalatea sub-districts.

According to him, the beneficiary residents were 5,000 heads of families for 50 thousand liters of clean water. The assistance was provided using a clean water tanker belonging to PMI Pusat.

"At least five PMI volunteers are deployed every time they distribute clean water to the community," he said.

Some areas that have been reached by PMI Jeneponto include Bontosungu Village, Turatea Village, Jenetallasa Village, North Tolo Village, Tolo Village, Samataring Village, Maero Village, Baraya Village and Bontoramba Village and so on.

Each water tank fleet has a capacity of 5,000 liters and is ready to distribute it to various areas that need it. In this regard, volunteers are asked, the Chairman of the PMI Branching, Districts throughout Jeneponto Regency, to be able to inform if there are residents who experience drought and need clean water.

"In one day, PMI is able to distribute one to three areas for clean water supply," he said.
