Regarding Ganjar Pranowo's Vice Presidential Candidate, Hasto: Wait For Megawati's Game Date

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) accompanying Ganjar Pranowo was already in the pocket of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. The announcement is just a matter of time.

"Yes, the name already exists. Just wait for the playing date from Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri. The input from the president, from the party leaders, has been conveyed," Hasto told reporters after the opening of the Rakernas IV at JIexpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday, September 29.

Hasto explained that the name previously widely referred to as a potential candidate for Ganjar's vice presidential candidate has become increasingly narrow. Megawati even said that she had discussed with President Jokowi, Ganjar, and other general chairmen for a long time.

In fact, Megawati said that Hasto had whispered with Ganjar and President Jokowi during the PDIP Rakernas IV. "That shows an understanding," he said.

Previously reported, Ganjar had spoken about the opportunity for East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD as potential companions in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). He said the two names that were widely rumored to have strengthened recently.

"Yes, all the issues are getting stronger because we want to discuss food," Ganjar told reporters at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday, October 29.

Even so, Ganjar avoided when asked about Khofifah's name which was already in the pocket of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. He only said that he was focusing on the implementation of the PDIP Rakernas IV.

The theme of the PDIP Rakernas IV is 'Food Sovereignty for the Welfare of the Indonesian People' with the theme 'Pangan as an Emblem for the Predemic of Indonesian Leadership for the World'. This activity lasted for three days from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1.

"This is the National Working Meeting for food," he said.
