KPU Reminds, Kaesang's Name At PSI Will Be Immediately Registered At The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) Idham Holik reminded the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) to immediately register the son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) Kaesang Pangarep as the new general chairman of the party to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham). "If political parties participating in the election make changes or changes to the position of chairman of political parties, then the party must register changes in management to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," said Idham as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 26. This is regulated in Article 21 paragraph (1), Article 23 paragraph (2) letters a and b, as well as Article 30 paragraph (1) and (2) Permenkumham RI Number 34 of 2017 concerning Procedures for Registration for the Establishment of Legal Entities, Amendments to the Articles of Association and Budgets, as well as Changes in the Management of Political Parties. If later Kumham issues a decision on the ratification of the changes in the management of the political party, then the political party concerned must carry out a continuous updating of political party data through the Political Party Information System (Sipol). The police are managed by the KPU, as regulated in Article 146 paragraph (1), paragraph (2), paragraph (4) letters b, paragraph (5) letters b and d, as well as a paragraph (6) KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 3 of 2022 concerning the Stages and Schedule of General Elections in 2024. Idham explains that there is no time limit to register Kaesang to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The reason is, so far, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is responsive in services for the registration of the approval of political party management management of election participants. "In Permenkumham RI Number 34 of 2017, the process of legalizing the management of political parties by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has been set in detail," explained Idham.

He also believes that every political party that repositions the position or replacement of the general chairman has prepared all the required requirements documents for the registration of management ratification at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Kaesang Pangarep has been appointed as chairman of PSI replacing Giring Ganesha.
