Directly 'attacked' Since Joining PSI, Kaesang: Ordinary Aja, Not Comparable To Accused By PKI, Chinese Technology, Fake Diplomas

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep admitted that he immediately received an attack while deciding to join this party since Saturday, September 23 last weekend.

However, Kaesang has no problem with the blasphemy that targets him. According to him, this has not been proportional to the insults his father, Joko Widodo, has received from serving as regional head to president.

This was conveyed by Kaesang after being officially appointed as general chairman in PSI National Land Coffee (Kopdarnas) at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta.

"I just received the PSI KTA (membership card) and immediately attacked, blasphemed, insulted. I'm normal, the dose is still low. It's not comparable to being accused by the PKI, Chinese crew, anti-Islamic, plonga-plongo, fake diplomas," said Kaesang, Monday, September 25.

However, Kaesang admitted that he was surprised why his wife, Erina Gudono, was also handed over personally when Kaesang decided to join PSI. In fact, Erina clearly did not participate in politics like herself.

"But what's strange is that and I'm confused, how come my beloved wife is also attacked. Wong, he didn't join in, except to only give my blessing and support," said Kaesang.

After having a PSI membership card (KTA), Kaesang admitted that he had many questions about why PSI was the party he chose to join. In fact, the youngest son of President Joko Widodo is considered to have the opportunity to join big parties.

"I actually joined PSI because this party was still small, I was interested in joining PSI because PSI was not yet in the DPR, and I want to fight with all my friends here so that in 2024 PSI will become a big party and in 2024 it will be in the DPR RI," said Kaesang.

Kaesang mengungkapkan keputusannya terjun ke dunia politik terinspirasi dari jejak sang ayah, Presiden Joko Widodo. "Terus terang saya masuk politik itu, salah satu inspirasinya, ya bapak saya sendiri," lanjutnya.

Seeing Jokowi's track record departing from the position of Mayor of Solo, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, to the President of the Republic of Indonesia through the PDIP support, Kaesang saw that he also has the potential to do politics like his father.

Kaesang also asked Jokowi for permission when he decided to join the party bearing the rose symbol.

"He is a person who I really love and really respect, I want to follow in his footsteps in politics for good. To my father, I want to convey, my permission to take my path, sir. May Gusti Allah bless this path I choose," said Kaesang.

Kaesang was officially appointed as the General Chair of PSI for the period 2023-2028 replacing Giring Ganesha after several days of entering the party. In addition to the inauguration of Kaesang as General Chair, PSI also appointed Giring Ganesha and Isyana Bagoes Oka as members of the PSI Board of Trustees.

Then, the position of Secretary General (Secretary General) of PSI is now again filled by King Juli Antoni. The King of July previously also served as Secretary General of PSI before becoming Secretary of the PSI Board of Trustees.
