HALTENG - One of the inmates of the Class IIB Weda detention center, Central Halmahera Regency (Halteng), North Maluku (Malut) escaped by climbing the 12-meter-high prison wall. The head of the Class IIB Weda Detention Center, Nurchalis Nur, confirmed the escape of a prisoner named Alfirah Mansur alias Boboho (20) in a theft case. According to the officer's report, Boboho fled last Wednesday and was only known on Friday today. "We have made an official report and coordinated with the Halteng Police regarding the escaped prisoner and so far we, the detention center and the police, have been searching and pursuing the whereabouts of the prisoner," he said when contacted, Antara, Friday, September 22. As for the characteristics of the escaped prisoner, height (TB) 163 cm, weight (BB) 58 kg, dark hair, cooked sawo and aged 20 years. After receiving the report that one inmate (convict) had escaped from the Class IIB Weda detention center, the Resort Police personnel immediately searched and chased the prisoner's whereabouts. Halteng Police Chief, AKBP Faidil Zikri, was contacted saying that his party had received a report regarding one of the inmates who escaped from the Class IIB Weda detention center. "I along with the members immediately went to the Class IIB Weda detention center as well as directly checked the path used by the prisoner to escape," he said. The police chief said members were already in the field to carry out searches and pursuits assisted by prison officials.

The prisoner escaped in March with his friend by destroying the iron iron bars of the Halteng Police detention cell and when the prisoner escaped he was arrested at a hiding place in Nusliko Village.
