Japanese Companies Turn Cows Into Rocket Fuel

JAKARTA - Chemical manufacturing companies in Japan plan to produce biomethanese liquid from cow droppings which is a new solution to the disposal problems experienced by farmers.

Water Inc. company said it had taken the initiative to conduct trials over the coming fall, Kyodo reported, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 19.

The liquid will later be put on a rocket made by Japan's space pioneer company Interstellar Technologies based in Hokkaido, an island north of Japan.

Air Water has been actively involved in the production of biometana liquid on Hokkaido Island since 2021.

The innovative process uses fermented manure and urine at a special factory located at a cattle farm in Taiki City.

Furthermore, the biogas generated at the factory was taken to a factory in Obihiro.

There, a careful process is then carried out to separate methane from the product and after that, a cooling process is carried out to convert it into a liquid biomethana.

This solution has the potential to revolutionize waste management for cattle breeders and the use of renewable fuel in the space aviation sector.
