BATAM-Puluhan Bakamla RI personnel who participated in World Cleanup Day or World Clean-Clean Day managed to collect 12 sacks weighing 100 kg of garbage at Bemban Nongsa Beach, Batam, Saturday, September 16.

Head of the West Bakamla Zone, Laksma Bakamla Syufenri, S.Sos., M.Si, in his direction, said that this action was carried out as a form of concern and social responsibility as a member of the Nusantara Sea Guard to protect the earth. "In addition to patrol duties, Bakamla RI also has a responsibility to protect the marine environment from violations in the form of pollution or marine pollution," said Syufenri in a statement published by VOI.

He added that garbage-polluted beaches and seas can disrupt ecosystems in the sea and this has an impact on human life and marine life. "Moreover, it is our responsibility now so that the sea is clean so that we can inherit it to our children and grandchildren", said Laksma Bakamla Syufenri.

Not only alone, Bakamla RI personnel also collaborated with community elements, school students, students, government agencies and security forces. Apart from the Bemban Nongsa beach, cleaning was also carried out at the Barelang and Tanjung Uma Bridges.
