PBNU Chairman Gus Yahya: I Never Left PKB, But I Can't Drag NU To Support This Candidate

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) emphasized that he was still a member of the PKB. But he did not attract NU in organizational practical political interests.

"I've never left PKB until today. But as a head of PBnu I can't drag NU into PKB. As a ketum, I can't drag NU to other political parties, dragging NU to support this candidate because the organizational norms are not allowed," said Gus Yahya, Friday, September 15.

Gus Yahya explained that he was indeed one of the founders of PKB. At that time, PBNU requested that a political party be formed.

"I am the founder of PKB, including, even before being discussed at PBNU, I participated in starting development with a number of kiai, and I entered the team to prepare documents to be submitted to PBNU," he explained.

But it is emphasized, as an organization, that Gus Yahya separates PBNU's interests from political affairs.

PBNU can no longer be required to feed the party that was formed. Competing rationally, and we also invite the public to enter the NU residents to rationally assess the existing political parties. "The rationality is seen, judging by the achievements and track records, you don't have to pay attention to claims on behalf of NU," he said.
