Dozens Of Police Deployed To Help Put Out The TPA Fire In Cirebon

Dozens of Cirebon City Police personnel were deployed to help extinguish the fire at the Luhur Coffee Final Disposal Site (TPA), Cirebon City, West Java.

Cirebon City Police Chief AKBP M Rano Hadiyanto said his party deployed personnel and watercanon vehicles to join other officers in extinguishing the blaze so that it would not spread.

"We are working with the fire department to extinguish the fire," said Police Chief Rano Hadiyanto at the fire site as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 9.

Rano said that one unit of the watercanon car was able to accommodate 5,000 liters of water with additional personnel assistance from the Cirebon City Police, it is hoped that the fire at the Luhur Coffee TPA will be handled soon.

"The watercanon spraying force can reach 25 bars. 30 officers from the Cirebon City Police have been deployed," said Rano.

Head of the Cirebon City Environment Agency (DLH) Yuni Darti ensured that the investigation process would be carried out when the flames at the Luhur Coffee TPA had been extinguished.

According to him, the temporary suspicion that the fire incident was caused by a fire that was carried away by the wind from the location of the burning of vacant land near the Luhur Coffee TPA.

"We will carry out an investigation because this TPA accommodates 100 tons of waste per day," he said.

He estimates that the burned area in the Luhur Coffee Waste TPA reaches 300-400 square meters of the total land area of 5.2 hectares.

"This fire is estimated to scorched 300-400 meters of land," he said.

Yuni said the fire was thought to have been caused by land burning activities near the location, then the coal from the fire was blown by strong winds and immediately grabbed dry garbage at the Luhur Coffee TPA.

Even so, Yuni ensured that her party would conduct an investigation with the relevant authorities to find out the cause of the fire.

"A total of seven fire engines have been deployed. The blackout is still ongoing," he said.

He said that for the time being the activities of garbage scavengers at the Luhur Coffee TPA were temporarily stopped in order to anticipate unwanted things.

Yuni ensured that the blackout process at the Luhur Coffee TPA was still ongoing. Cirebon City Firefighters deployed three fire engines and from various agencies deployed four fire engines.

"We urge residents not to approach the location of the fire," he said.
