YOGYAKARTA - Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim revealed the reason his party chose PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin to accompany Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.

Taslim said PKB had a large niche in Central Java and East Java. This is inversely proportional to NasDem's less strong vote on the Javanese voter base.

"We have a lot of electoral districts that have holes in Java. And we know that in Central Java and East Java the champions are PKB," said Taslim on one of the private TVs, Monday (4/9).

Meanwhile, the Democrat led by Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), said Taslim, his strength only rests on the Pacitan base, East Java. But it is not yet solid on other bases in East Java, including Central Java.

"If the Democrats are strong in Pacitan, yes. However, many are elsewhere, the Horseshoe and Mataraman areas, not to mention in Central Java," he said.

Not only the electoral aspect, Taslim also said that the figure of Cak Imin is a former activist and is active in the movement when students are students. For him, this matter is an added value because Cak Imin has a wide closeness.

With this background, Taslim said that this matter matched the figure of President Anies Baswedan.

"Mr. Muhaimin is indeed a movement person since the student has had a lot of closeness to friends outside of his community, and this is connected," said Taslim.

"We feel it's time, it's time to combine 2 young characters to bring it to a better future," he added.

At this time, Anies Baswedan is officially paired with Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin as reading the presidential and vice presidential elections in the 2024 presidential election.
