President Jokowi Discusses The Global Economic Situation With The IMF

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo discussed the global economic situation with the Director of International Monetary Fund Implementation (IMF) Kristaminawineva and delegates at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

"When talking to the World Bank and IMF, he exchanged ideas about the problem of the world economic situation," said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in her statement after accompanying President Jokowi at the meeting as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 4.

According to Foreign Minister Retno, both the President of the World Bank and the IMF Managing Director expressed their appreciation for Indonesia's economic achievements. Both praised Indonesia's economic growth as well as Indonesia's ability to suppress inflation at the same time.

"The IMF's Managing Director even said that ASEANIs is a bright spot in the midst of a difficult world situation and Indonesia is said to be the source of joy, source of hope. This also provides lessons for developing countries. If Indonesia can do it, other developing countries must also be able to," he said.

Also accompanying the President in the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno.
