PAN Believes PKB Will Not Leave The Advanced Indonesia Coalition

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the National Mandate Party DPP Eddy Soeparno emphasized that his party is not worried if the National Awakening Party leaves the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, which carries Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election.

"We are not worried (PKB will leave the coalition) because we have known each other for a long time and are conducting very close political cooperation," said Eddy during the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the National Mandate Party (PAN) in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.

This was said by Eddy Soeparno regarding the name change of the coalition of political parties that supported Prabowo Subianto. Initially, Gerindra and PKB agreed to form the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR), then changed to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition after PAN and the Golkar Party joined.

Eddy believes that the political parties that carry Prabowo are very solid in establishing political cooperation, and even continue in parliament after the 2024 General Election.

According to him, the coalition political parties have a spirit of togetherness, namely from the start they bind political cooperation to achieve the target of victory in the 2024 presidential election.

"Through this political cooperation, we are working to achieve the target, namely winning Prabowo to become president," he said.

Regarding the figure of the candidate for vice president as Prabowo's companion, he said it would be discussed jointly by the coalition political parties.

Previously, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar admitted that he would report to his party officials regarding the name change of the coalition supporting Prabowo Subianto, which was originally the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

Prabowo Subianto, a presidential candidate promoted by KKIR (now changing to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition), announced the name change in the series of commemorations of PAN's 25th Anniversary in Jakarta, Monday (28/8) night.

"Yes, I just found out earlier with Pak Prabowo that his coalition became an Advanced Indonesia Coalition. Of course I will report to the party that the progress has changed. Does that mean that the KKIR was dissolved? So I don't know. I will report to the party first," said Muhaimin.

The Gerindra Party and PKB formed KKIR and signed an agreement known as the Sentul Charter on August 13, 2022.

In the charter, one of the points of agreement for the name of the presidential candidate and the prospective vice presidential candidate was determined by General Chairperson Gerindra Prabowo Subianto and PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar.
