Propose Revision Of Regional Regulation, DLH Plans To Increase 100 Percent Of Waste Tariffs In Bengkulu

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu City Environment Agency (DLH) plans to increase the waste retribution rate 100 percent by 2024.

Head of the Bengkulu City DLH Waste Management Division, Rusman Effendi, said the plan was contained in the revision of regional regulations (perda) regarding the immediate waste management.

"The application for the revision of the regional regulation is carried out so that the original regional revenue target (PAD) for waste management in Bengkulu City reaches the target in 2024," he said in Bengkulu City, Tuesday, August 29, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said that DLH Bengkulu had proposed a revision of the regional regulation and was currently being discussed by the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) of the Bengkulu City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD).

He said that the proposed increase in 100 percent of waste processing tariffs or levies for industry and people such as market traders would increase to Rp. 1 thousand per day or Rp. 30 thousand per month and for shops and households to Rp. 45 thousand per month.

Then in the trade center which is divided into three categories, namely the large stall loss with a deposit obligation of IDR 500 per day and a courtyard of street vendors of IDR 500 per day as well as a shop stall of IDR 25 thousand per month.

For shops with residential areas, Rp. 40 thousand per month is charged with levies, shops without a place to live are Rp. 30 thousand per month and shopping centers are Rp. 600 thousand per month.

Furthermore, the retribution at the hotel is IDR 125 thousand to IDR 600 thousand per month, restaurants IDR 100,000 to IDR 700 thousand per month, hospitals IDR 250 thousand to IDR 750 thousand per month and state offices IDR 50 thousand and private offices IDR 100,000 per month.

"The increase in tariffs is adjusted to the high cost of waste service operations in Bengkulu City. This increase is natural in current economic conditions because the tariffs applied have been implemented for years, so it needs to be updated," he said.

According to him, with the proposed revision of the regional regulation, the Bengkulu City Government hopes that the PAD target in the following year can reach IDR 1.5 billion in 2024.
