There Have Been 76 HIV Cases In Bengkulu During 2023

BENGKULU CITY - Since January until now the Bengkulu City Health Office (Dinkes), Bengkulu Province found 76 cases of people infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in the region. "During 2023 the Bengkulu City Health Office team found 76 cases of people infected with HIV," said Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division (P2P) of the Bengkulu City Health Office Sri Martiana in Bengkulu City, Saturday. He said the figure decreased when compared to 2022, because in that year 114 cases were found and six of them died. To suppress the spread of HIV in Bengkulu City, his party continued to carry out education and counseling in collaboration with the foundation. Meanwhile, the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office explained the high number of HIV cases in Bengkulu, due to the pattern of association of young people who were free and did not use security during sexual intercourse. Because, from January to December 2022 his party found cases of HIV/AIDS in five regions in Bengkulu Province as many as 142 cases and 14 people who died from HIV.
