The police chief said the first disclosure was in Bengkalis on August 5, 2023, with a special team from Customs and the navy. The disclosure was with evidence of fifteen packs of crystal methamphetamine weighing 15 kg which was planned to be brought from Bengkalis to Pekanbaru.

In this first disclosure, the team arrested AM (25) from Bengkalis, GR (29) from Pekanbaru and IT (23) a resident of Jakarta. In addition to narcotics evidence, two motorcycles, backpacks and 5 cell phones were also secured.

This disclosure, he continued, began with information received by the Bengkalis Police Narcotics Research Opsnal team that there would be a number of narcotics that would be smuggled from Malaysia to Indonesia through the waters of the Malacca Strait.

"From this information, the team arrested AM along with evidence of 15 packs of methamphetamine stored in a backpack and motorcycle seat in Kuala Alam Bengkalis Village and he brought the illicit goods on orders from GR to be brought to Pekanbaru and had just received a salary of Rp. 500 thousand," said Setyo.

Then the joint team carried out developments by conducting "control delivery" and undercover to Pekanbaru. After arriving at Pekanbaru, the two bags will be received by two different recipients.

"The first recipient of GR was arrested while taking a backpack containing 10 kg of crystal methamphetamine in an empty house in Tampan Pekanbaru District and IT was also arrested when they took five packs of methamphetamine at the Pekanbaru City TKP, they were promised an upar of Rp. 50 million and the new IT was paid Rp. 5 million through the Sakuku application, both controlled from someone named Stephen from Malaysia for different delivery purposes," said the Police Chief.

For the second disclosure on August 14, 2023, the Bengkalis Police received information that large amounts of narcotics entered from Malaysia to the Bengkalis waters, to North Sumatra Medan. "From the patrols carried out on August 14, 2023, information was obtained that the illicit goods were brought to Pekanbaru and managed to secure DI (44) and BP (42) from Medan with their cars but did not find drugs. After the drug interrogation, they were taken in another car and detected towards Mandau District via the Pekanbaru Toll Road and had lost track," said Setyo.

Furthermore, the team coordinated with the Rohil Police and the Tanah Putih Police, when the car was blocked, it hit the barrier and ran towards the rubber plantation in the Banjar XII Rohil area. Then the suitcase containing narcotics was dumped by the suspect who was in the car and was found by the joint team of the Bengkalis Police Narcotics Unit.

"The car was found in the forest and the suspect fled, the next day S (46) the car driver was arrested with evidence of 8 plastic packages suspected of containing methamphetamine, 7 packs of ecstasy (16,113 pills), 726 strips / 7,260 pills of Happy Five and three cell phones and two Innova cars," he said.
