Regarding Food Estate, Puan Reminds Prabowo Must Be In Accordance With Jokowi's Expectations

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P DPP, Puan Maharani, revealed the reason why PDIP criticized the food estate program whose management was carried out by the Ministry of Defense led by Prabowo Subianto. According to Puan, the criticism was constructive. "So as expected by Mr. Jokowi, all ministries will complete its priority programs in all its ministries. So I hope that including the food estate can be resolved according to what the President hopes for," said Puan at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday 17 August. Puan reminded that ministries programs including the food estate program run optimally as expected by President Joko Widodo. According to Puan, it is too far to accuse such food estate programs as an environmental crime. "Yes, it is too far what actually happened in the field, to get there we need to come to the field first, how in the field, and so on," said Puan. Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto criticized the government's food estate program. Hasto even called this project part of environmental crime. According to Hasto, politics should take care of life and protect the land of the world. Meanwhile, the food estate program is actually illegal, then the forests were cut down, and the food estate was not well built. It is part of a crime against the environment," said Tuesday. Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani answered strongly criticism of the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto regarding the food estate program as an environmental crime. According to Muzani, Hasto needs to understand comprehensively the food estate program as a national food estate program organized by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.

Muzani reminded Hasto PDIP that the food estate program was actually an embodiment of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) vision and mission. The reason is, there is no ministerial vision and mission in a country that adheres to a presidential system like Indonesia. "There is no ministry program, there is no ministry vision, there is a president and vice president vision. Remember this there is a presidential government system. Pak Prabowo is fully Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin's government program," said Muzani.
