BOGOR - The judge of the Cibinong District Court (PN) in Bogor Regency granted the request of comedian Komeng to change his name for the purpose of running for members of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) in the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg).
Public Relations of the Class IA Cibinong District Court, Amran S Herman, revealed that the request for a change of name was granted by the judge in May 2023.
The owner's full name Alfiansyah Bustami added his stage name "Komeng" at the end of his name to "Alfiansyah Bustami Komeng".
"The judge gave up, adding the name Komeng behind him," said Amran in Bogor, West Java (West Java), Friday, August 11.
According to him, the reason Komeng changed his name was because he wanted to be successful in the 2024 Legislative Election. This name change is one way to make it easier for people to know him on ballot paper. "The importance is to become a legislative candidate, want to become a DPD," he said.

Komeng registered with the West Java Provincial General Election Commission office on May 13, 2023, as a candidate for DPD RI member from the West Java electoral district (Dapil).
West Java KPU chairman Rifqi Ali Mubarok said Komeng was a resident who was recorded as domiciled in the Bogor area and had gone through the administrative verification and factual verification stages before registering.

Rifqi explained that Komeng could register as a candidate for DPD RI after previously collecting around 6,000 support from residents as evidenced by a copy of the identity card (KTP) as one of the requirements.
