The Relocation House For Earthquake Victims Of Cianjur In 2 Subdistricts Has Been Completed But Has Not Been Handed Over

CIANJUR - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has confirmed that 151 units of phase II relocation houses in Mande District for earthquake survivors in Cianjur can already be inhabited this week. However, a number of supporting facilities are not yet available.

Deputy IV of BNPB Jarwansyah said the construction of relocation houses for earthquake victims in Cianjur and Cugenang sub-districts had been completed since a few months ago but had not been handed over.

"The handover that was delayed has been carried out, so that currently it is just a matter of filling the candidate for the owner. The Cianjur Regency Government has provided recipient data in accordance with the decree given by the Cianjur Regent," he said in Cianjur, West Java, Wednesday, August 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

However, a number of supporting facilities and facilities including clean water are still being pursued in order to flow to each relocation house phase II in the next week, or the local government can help supply water until springs can flow.

"Currently, efforts to build a bore well are being pursued so that residents have no trouble getting clean water supplies for household needs," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the 190 relocation houses for phase III in Batulawang Village, Cipanas District, he said, it is still in the process of measuring and flattening the land in the hope that it can be built soon and prospective residents can immediately occupy the house.

"We are trying to build development according to the target so that there are no more earthquake survivors who live in tents. However, for one week, they will get waiting money that can be used to rent a house or build temporary housing," he said.

"His party assessed that the earthquake management in Cianjur, including the fastest compared to other cities/regencies that experienced the same thing in less than one year thanks to the cooperation of all parties including the central government, regional governments, BNPB, TNI/Polri and existing humanitarian organizations," said Jarwansyah.
