NTB Bawaslu Investigate Complaints From Provincial Government Officials Direct Zul-Rohmi Duet Support

The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is following up on public reports related to alleged violations of the neutrality of high-ranking NTB Provincial Government officials who are involved in directing support for the duo of Governor Zulkieflimansyah and Deputy Governor Sitti Rohmi Djalilah or Zul-Rohmi to continue in the second period in the 2024 Pilkada.

The Coordinator of the Division for Handling Violations and Information Data of the NTBUmar Bawaslu, Ahmad Seth, emphasized that his party had pocketed evidence related to the alleged neutrality of high-ranking NTB Provincial Government officials.

"We are still investigating the public's reporting. What is certain is that from the evidence we obtained, there was indeed an act of neutrality from one of the NTB Provincial Government's top officials," said Umar in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

According to him, from the pocketed evidence, Bawaslu has immediately moved by forming a team to conduct a study related to violations by top officials within the NTB Provincial Government (Pemprov). This step is a form of preventing violations of neutrality from ASN.

"What needs to be remembered is that there are already state institutions that take care of it, namely the KPU and Bawaslu. There, ASN must focus on the duties and functions that have been mandated by the State, not involved in practical politics, let alone become a successful team of candidate pairs," he said.

His party will summon the top officials of the provincial government to clarify the public reports regarding their non-neutral attitude.

Moreover, in the complaints and evidence obtained by Bawaslu, there has been bad behavior of ASN by the provincial government officials to bring the names of certain community organizations (ormas) to provide support to Zul-Rohmi to continue in the second period in the 2024 Pilgub.

"God willing, tomorrow we will summon the top officials of the NTB Provincial Government. Well, if from the results of our clarification, for example he admits, then there is a violation, of course we will immediately proceed to the ASN Commission," said Umar.

The term of office of the Governor of NTB Zulkieflimansyah and the Deputy Governor of NTB Sitti Rohmi Djalilah will end on September 19, 2023. To fill the vacancy for the position, until the 2024 NTB Pilkada, the government will appoint the acting governor.
