It's Been 77 Years, The Panji Gumilang Kubu Proposes Suspension Of Detention To The Criminal Investigation Unit Of The Police

The Panji Gumilang camp has submitted a request for a suspension of detention to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. The reason is that the age of the head of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School is old. "We have conveyed the suspension of detention, until now there has been no written answer. Yes, we are waiting," said Panji Gumilang's attorney, Hendra Effendy, to reporters, Wednesday, August 2. After Panji is said to have entered the seventh head. Thus, investigators are expected to consider humanity and grant the request for a suspension. Moreover, with the age of 77 years, Hendra claimed that his client would not be able to do things that were feared by investigators, such as eliminating evidence and so on. "The age has been solved at 77, so it is impossible for someone in the capacity of an educator and of course they can do things that are more than what is suspected or what is suspected," said Hendra. Previously, Bareskrim Polri said there were several reasons behind the decision to detain Panji Gumilang after being named a suspect in the alleged blasphemy case. One of them was not cooperative in the examination process. Panji's uncooperative attitude in the examination process was when he did not attend the invitation to the examination on July 27. At that time, Panji Gumilang reasoned that he had a fever. A day later, his legal team showed a doctor's certificate regarding the health condition of the head of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School. However, investigators doubted his validity. In fact, the Panji Gumilang camp refused to submit the doctor's letter. "Not present stated that the reason for getting sick with fever was the fact that our doctor's letter doubted its validity, only sending via Whatsap was originally asked not to be given," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro. Then, Article 45A paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 2 of Law no. 19 of 2016 concerning amendments and Law number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE with a threat of 6 years in prison. Finally, Panji Gumilang was also charged with Article 156 A of the Criminal Code. In this article, the penalty is 5 years in prison.
