GORONTALO - The North Gorontalo Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Gorontalo Province, asked Pertamina to inspect the Solar Packed Dealer Fisherman facility (SPDN) or a place to purchase diesel fuel at a subsidy price at the Gentuma Port Fish Landing Base (PPI). "I hope Pertamina can check the condition of the SPDN facility whether it is still functioning properly or there are obstacles that can have an impact on filling fuel and boats belonging to fishermen. Because we have complaints regarding the distribution of subsidized diesel fuel in the SPDN," said a member of Commission II of the North Gorontalo DPRD, Dedy Dunggio in Gorontalo, Antara, Saturday, July 30. His party asked Pertamina to send a special team to the field to ensure the condition of the SPDN considering that there were allegations of diesel mixed with water due to pipe leaks experienced. "I hope that the government and Pertamina will supervise the distribution of fuel in the SPDN and check the condition of the facilities provided so as not to harm fishermen," said Dedy. He explained that this complaint had been submitted repeatedly by fishermen because many of the ship's engines that filled fuel at the SPDN were damaged due to suspected diesel mixed with water due to pipe leaks. "If cooperated with the appointed cooperative. Of course Pertamina must ensure. Check the feasibility of equipment at SPDN so as not to harm fishermen who own the ship," he said. His party (DPRD) will participate in supervising because the complaints are submitted continuously by fishermen. "We hope that fishermen will not suffer losses because damaged ship engines can interfere with capture fisheries activities and production," said Dedy as well. PPI of Gentua Yus Ali Port said that it oversees the distribution of subsidized diesel fuel to fishermen. "However, our authority is only limited to the recommendations for distributing fuel. Meanwhile, the manager is the responsibility of the cooperative," he said. He said there were about 24 units of ships under 30 GT filling fuel at the SPDN. Each ship fills 650 liters per day at sea.

Each ship routinely gets a share of four times every month. "If the stock of fuel is safe because it can meet the needs of fishermen, but the suspicion that fishermen complain about is the responsibility of the cooperative," he said. PPI Gentuma is one of the ports with the highest fish production in Gorontalo. Per day it reaches 12 to 13 tons and is consistently producing.
