Ganjar Pranowo And Gibran Together With Residents Celebrate 1 Sura Night Carnival At Mangkunegaran Temple

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo followed the procession of the Heritage Carnival Dalem Praja Mangkunegaran, Tuesday, July 18 evening. The carnival was held to welcome the eve of 1 Sura Jimawal 1957 or the new year in the Java calendar.

That night, Ganjar was accompanied by the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka, member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Aria Bima and a number of other figures. Ganjar and Gibran were seen walking together while following the carnival.

This year's Pusaka Carnival procession, Dalem Praja Mangkunegaran, is solemn. The atmosphere of calm and sacredness enveloped the Mangkunegaran Temple area from sunset until the seconds of the procession began.

Ganjar, who arrived at the location at around 19:00, immediately joined the ranks of the carnival. Not long after, the Dalem Pusaka Carnival was carried out solemnly and sacredly. People who do not join the procession are asked to pray for the safety of the nation and state.

"An annual ritual event that I think is good. So the culture is still running and it was interesting, those who wanted to join the road carnival continued, those who did not join the carnival may stop here while praying," said Ganjar after following the carnival.

In addition to the dalem heirloom kirab, the Sura night commemoration was also carried out with recitation at the mosque around Mangkunegaran Temple. "Then there is the recitation. So I think there is a marriage between cultures, the religious side is also running, and the enthusiasm of the community is also extraordinary," said Ganjar Pranowo.

According to Ganjar, the ritual and sacredness of the Dalem Heritage Carnival are a special attraction for the general public. The event, which is held once a year, can be included in the religious tourism calendar.

"Definitely. People will definitely come. The enthusiasm of the community is extraordinary because this is quite unique and there is even a sacred atmosphere. There are people screaming, don't be immediately (hit)," said Ganjar.

Ganjar hopes that this New Year's Eve can be used by the community for self-reflection and improve what was still lacking in the previous year.

"Hopefully we enter the new year, Muharram, it can make us more enthusiastic, can reflect on the previous years that we fixed, which we have improved well," concluded Ganjar Pranowo.
