Viral Man Looks Cool But Steals Handdhone Owned By Online Taxi Driver

JAKARTA - An act of theft of a cellphone was caught on a dashcam camera on the interior of an online taxi driver in the Gajah Mada Street area, Gambir District, Central Jakarta. The video then went viral on Instagram social media.

"Be careful with people with blue shirts, doing the action by borrowing cellphones to contact their friends, it turns out that the person's cellphone was taken away, especially friends with online transportation to be more vigilant. The location of the drop off of the passenger was parked in Lion Air, Jalan Gajah Mada," wrote the caption on the account as quoted by VOI, Tuesday, July 18.

In the interior dashcam recording of the car, the perpetrator is seen wearing a blue shirt with neat hair pretending to be a passenger.

The perpetrator opened the door of the victim's car from the middle seat. Then the perpetrator pretended to borrow the cellphone belonging to the online taxi driver to call his friend.

After the cellphone changed hands, then the perpetrator pretended to call his colleague and got out of the victim's car. Then the perpetrator closed the left middle door while carrying the online driver's cellphone. The perpetrator fled with the victim's cellphone.

However, until this news was written, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gambir Metro Police, Kompol Andhika Aris Prasetya, said that he had not received a report on the incident.

"There has been no report yet," he briefly told VOI.
