Not Wanting To Miss Antraks Disease, Temanggung Regency Government Strictly Monitors Entry And Exit Of Livestock

TEMANGGUNG - The spread of BETraks disease in livestock in several areas is starting to worry. For this reason, the Temanggung Regency Government is taking anticipatory steps.

One of them is increasing supervision of livestock traffic, especially from outside the region.

"We are increasing active surveillance in regional markets, borders and livestock shelters," said Head of the Temanggung Regency Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Security Service, Joko Budi Nuryanto.

Joko said that to ensure the health of animals, there must be an animal health certificate (SKKH).

According to him, livestock from the anti-extraction area must have been banned by local authorities until the predetermined time limit.

However, he said, officers still had to strictly increase supervision of animal traffic in the district, especially animals that entered from the area found byANTraks.

"We moved quickly with supervision of the trade in cattle and sheep from outside the area that entered Temanggung," he said, as quoted from Antara.

He said through officers in the field, such as extension workers, animal and doctor mantri to increase education related to the dangers of BETraks.

"We also urge residents and traders to monitor livestock from areas that have been infected or there are findings of anti-extraction," he said.

According to him, so far there have been no anti-extraction diseases found in animals in Temanggung Regency.

As is known, Temanggung Regency is one of the largest livestock-producing areas in Central Java, especially sheep. The animals are widely sold to other areas, such as Semarang, Surakarta, and Yogyakarta.
