The Joint SAR Team evacuated the bodies of three youths who drowned while performing an alternative treatment ritual there in Tegallega Village, Cigudeg, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Aris Nurjatmiko said three victims with the initials MDR (20), A (25) and B (25) were evacuated dead.

The victims, he said, were found at the bottom there with a depth of three meters. The three were found in the period from 14.00 WIB to 14.20 WIB.

"From the location, all the drowning victims have been found," said Aris as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 14.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cigudeg Police of the Bogor Resort Police, Kompol Wagiman, said that the sinking of the three men occurred on Thursday (13/7) night at around 22.00 WIB.

According to him, the victims initially wanted to perform an alternative ritual of treatment by bathing in the lake through assistance from six people from the alternative medicine department.

"Initially, a ustaz took spiritual treatment there by drowning seven times," said Wagiman.

However, he said, during the process, the three patients drowned and the companions managed to save themselves.

Wagiman explained that the six people from the alternative medicine department are still undergoing examination at his office as witnesses.

"Secured but not detained. We will check everything first, an investigation is still being carried out," he explained.
