JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin paid a seven-day working visit in Papua from Tuesday to Monday (17/7).
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin who is also the Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Special Autonomy Development for Papua (BP3OKP) is scheduled to make visits to Central Papua, West Papua, and Southwest Papua.
Ma'ruf Amin, accompanied by his wife Wury Ma'ruf Amin and his entourage, departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base (Lanud) Jakarta, Tuesday, July 11, at 10.00 WIB, by boarding the Presidential Special Aircraft for Boeing 737-400 TNI.
"The vice president wants to ensure that development in Papua can run according to plan," said Spokesperson for Vice President Masduki Baidlowi in a statement quoted by ANTARA.
While in Papua, Ma'ruf Amin is scheduled to conduct a number of visits and inaugurations.
On the first two days of his visit, the vice president will visit Timika and Nabire in Central Papua. In Timika, Ma'ruf will symbolically hand over the membership of the Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS) to indigenous Papuans (OAP) and review cataract and lipbing operations.
Furthermore, the vice president headed to Nabire for the laying of the first stone and planting trees as a sign of determining the location for the construction of the Central Papua Provincial Government Office. In Nabire, Ma'ruf Amin will have a dialogue with farmers who are members of the Real Farmers' Life (Hipeta).
