JAKARTA - Lawyer for Commissioner of PT Solitechmedia Synergy Irwan Hermawan, Maqdir Ismail said he would bring Rp27 billion which was returned by the private sector in the alleged corruption case of BTS Kominfo to the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

Maqdir said that he would bring the money in cash when he fulfilled the AGO's summons on Thursday (13/7).

"Yes, we'll see on Thursday. Don't assume today. I will try to come in the morning (to the AGO)," said Maqdir as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 10.

Maqdir said the AGO did not want to accept the money in the form of a transfer, so he would take it in cash.

"They (AGO) don't want to accept that I want to transfer. God willing (cash)," he said.

He also said that the money was stored in a safe place and ensured that not a penny was reduced. However, Maqdir was reluctant to elaborate on the form of the currency denomination

"Just on Thursday, we will meet at the Attorney General's Office. We show the money is true or not," he said.

Maqdir was originally summoned by the AGO today. However, Maqdir asked for a postponement until Thursday (13/7) because he had to accompany his other client's trial.

"Today I sent a letter (to the AGO) asking for a postponement because there was a pretrial decision trial. I plan to come Thursday," said Maqdir, contacted separately.

Previously, the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said that the investigating prosecutor would summon Maqdir Ismail for clarification.

"In accordance with the Witness Summons from the investigative team, Maqdir Ismail will be examined as a witness by the investigative team on Monday (10/7) at 09.00 WIB at the Jampidsus Round Building," said Sumedana.

This summons is related to Maqdir Ismail's statement that there are people, namely private parties who return money worth Rp27 billion in US dollars. The statement was made at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (4/7).

The Attorney General's Office of Investigation Team will summon Maqdir Ismail to explain his statement.

"In the next examination, the Investigative Team asked Maqdir Ismail to bring money worth Rp27 billion as stated in the media, to make clear the case which is currently in the process of being investigated and rolling in court related to the flow of funds," said Sumedana.

Maqdir Ismail is a lawyer for Irwan Hermawan, a defendant in alleged corruption in the provision of 4G transceiver station (BTS) infrastructure and supporting infrastructure for packages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 BAKTI of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology for 2020-2022.
