YOGYAKARTA - There were at least 3 major projects inaugurated by SOE Minister Erick Thohir in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) or The Mandalika, which were developed and managed by PT Pembangunan Pariwisata Indonesia or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), members of PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney. So what are the new projects in the Mandalika SEZ?

The inauguration of these 3 new projects marks a significant milestone in the development and transformation of the Mandalika SEZ into a world-class tourism center. This moment became very special and displayed ITDC's capabilities in improving and managing the tourism area of The Nusa 2, The Mandalika and The Golo Mori, ahead of the 50th ITDC life this year.

The inauguration of these 3 projects consisted of Pullman Lombok Marejani Mandalika Beach Resort, Kuta Lane, and Al-Hakim Mosque. SOE Minister Erick Thohir was accompanied by Deputy Minister of BUMN II Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah, Susiwijono Moegiarso Coordinating Minister for the Economy, InJourney President Director Dony Oskaria, ITDC President Director Ari Respati, ITDC Director Troy Reza War

Erick Thohir said the government through the BUMN Department had inaugurated 3 projects at the Mandalika SEZ. "We together with partners and stakeholders will continue to monitor and support these projects so that they can be completed properly. We are sure that the development of the Mandalika SEZ, which is still running, will share a significant positive impact for the Indonesian economy and improve the welfare of local residents," he said in his statement, quoted on Pekan(9/7/2023).

This is in line with what was informed by InJourney President Director Dony Oskaria that InJourney is committed to improving and advancing the Mandalika SEZ. "InJourney Group is committed to continuing to improve and advance the Mandalika SEZ (The Mandalika) as the leading tourist destination," he said.

Dony believes that cooperation with various parties, namely the government, business partners, and local residents, will bring prolonged progress, especially for The Mandalika area.

There is also Pullman Lombok Merujani Mandalika Beach Resort, the first 5-star hotel in Mandalika. The hotel was formed on an area of 4.5 hectares. The design used combines modern architectural styles with a distinctive touch of local culture and is located in a strategic position facing beautiful seabanks.

Pullman Lombok Merujani Mandalika Beach Resort has 230 regular rooms, 27 villas, and is equipped with lobby facilities, all day dining, main pool, pool bar, gym & spa, small meeting room, meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition (MICE), prayer room, parking zone, and speciality restaurant.

Next, Kuta Lane as the new landmark in The Mandalika area is an innovative object and a safe and functional pedestrian corridor. Kuta Lane plays a role as a connecting access between Bazaar Mandalika and Kuta Beach Park (KBP), which is designed with the aim of facilitating and increasing the flow of activities of tourists or tourists from KBP towards the Mandalika Bazaar zone and the opposite.

Kuta Lane is equipped with a spatial artwork, friendly kindergarten pages, charming iconic image spots, as well as an entertainment stage that is ready to be a place for interesting musical arts, dance, and theater performances.

Finally, the Al-Hakim Mosque in Ujung Hamlet, Kuta Village, Pujut District. This mosque was formed with the aim of distributing safe religious facilities for tourists and local residents in The Mandalika. This 2-story mosque is equipped with toilet facilities, ablution facilities, parking zones and pages, with modern designs but always observing cultural values and traditional architecture.

"The development of this project is ITDC's commitment to increasing tourism and infrastructure capabilities in The Mandalika, but also as a concrete step in urging economic development, producing jobs, and a positive multiplier effect for residents in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). With the same spirit and vision, together we realize The Mandalika as a global tourism destination," said Ari.
