Tourists To Bali Reach 2.37 Million, Up 533 Percent Compared To 2022

NUSA Dua - The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bali, recorded that the arrival of foreign tourists on the Island of the Gods in the first half of 2023 reached 2.37 million people, an increase of 533.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, only 374 thousand people.

"The realization is approaching the achievement of the first semester of 2019 or before the COVID-19 pandemic," said Head of Information Technology and Immigration Communication at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bali Syndrome Bobby Raymon in Nusa Dua, Bali, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 5.

Based on Ngurah Rai Bali Immigration data, the arrival of foreign tourists in the first half of 2019 reached 2.43 million people.

It was recorded that the 10 countries with the highest number of foreign arrivals (WNA) in Bali in January-June 2023 were from Australia as many as 605 thousand, then India reached 216 thousand.

Furthermore, the United States reached 121 thousand, the UK reached 119 thousand, Singapore as many as 113 thousand, China as many as 106 thousand.

Then, Malaysia there are 100 thousand people, South Korea as many as 98 thousand, Germany as many as 87 thousand and Russia as many as 85 thousand people.

Based on the type of visa used, 1.92 million people of whom used visas during visits or on-arrival (VOA) and electronic VOAs.

Furthermore, as many as 324 thousand foreigners used visit visa-free facilities (BVK) and as many as 62 thousand people, including using visit visas.

Meanwhile, the total Immigration of Ngurah Rai Bali served 5.16 million immigration crossings in the first half of 2023.

In addition to the arrival of 2.37 million foreign tourists, it also serves immigration crossings for the arrival of Indonesian citizens (WNI) reaching 149.5 thousand people.

Then, the arrival of the transport equipment crew was 53.2 thousand, the departure of Indonesian citizens was 165.5 thousand, the departure of foreigners was 2.36 million and the departure of the transportation crew reached 60 thousand people.

Previously, the Bali Provincial Government targeted foreign tourist visits during 2023 to reach 4.5 million people.

That number is expected to be achieved following the global control of COVID-19 pandemic cases and looser restrictions.

Moreover, in 2022, the realization of foreign tourist arrivals in Bali will reach 2.1 million people or exceed the target of 1.5 million people.

Meanwhile, nationally, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy targets the arrival of foreign tourists in Indonesia to reach 8.5 million people by 2023.
