Lecturer Who Molested Children At Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport Demanded 8 Years In Prison

DENPASAR - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office has demanded a lecturer, FBS (37), who molested a child at IG Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, eight years in prison.

The claim was read out by the Public Prosecutor of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office, Ni Luh Wayan Adhi Antari, during a hearing at the Denpasar District Court (PN), Bali, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4.

In a copy of the indictment collected at the Denpasar District Court, the Bali Attorney General's Office charged FBS with Article 76E in conjunction with Article 82 Paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning child protection.

In addition, the Public Prosecutor also demanded that the defendant pay a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison.

Based on the prosecutor's demands, the defendant's legal adviser FBS will file a memorandum of defense or exception at the hearing next week, Tuesday (11/7).

The alleged sexual harassment case by the FBS perpetrator who worked as a lecturer at a university at a university, against the victim, a 13-year-old child, occurred on Wednesday (4/6/2023) at around 15:35 WITA.

The victim at that time entered Gate 3 toilet at the Domestic Departure Terminal at IGNgurah Rai Airport to dispose of small water. In the toilet the victim met the defendant FBS who was also throwing small water in Urinoir (perturasan).

The defendant, who saw the victim at that time, forced her into a toilet booth. The victim, who was afraid, followed FBS orders. In the toilet, the perpetrator sexually abused the child.

After committing the harassment, FBS threatened the victim not to tell his parents who were with the victim at the airport in order to go to their place of origin in Jogjakarta.

However, the lecturer's behavior was revealed after the victim reported the matter to her parents, then the incident was reported to the airport and the Bali Regional Police, so that the perpetrator was arrested and legally processed.
