After The Wonogiri Earthquake, The Study Room Was Severely Damaged, Ganjar Asked For An Immediately Audit The Feasibility Of The School Building

WONOGIRI - The classroom and teacher room at SMPN 1 Giriwoyo Wonogiri suffered severe damage due to an earthquake measuring 6.6 SR in Bantul, on Friday 30 June. There are many walls and pillars of the school building that are cracked so that it is quite dangerous.

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, who visited the location on Monday, July 3, asked that the building be audited immediately. Experts are asked to be deployed immediately to check whether the building is still suitable for use.

Monitoring at the location, the teacher's room and the principal's room were the rooms that suffered the most damage. Every corner of the building, the crack is elongated with a fairly large crack size. Meanwhile in the classroom, cracks also occurred. Meanwhile, the class VII A, B and C buildings even collapsed.

"Yes, I asked the engineering team to immediately review the building. Because there are several buildings whose corners are all cracked and there are collapsed buildings," he said.

Ganjar asked the team to immediately conduct an assessment regarding the condition of the building. If it is still feasible, the building will be repaired and reused for the teaching and learning process.

"But if it turns out that the results of the assessment state that the building is not feasible, then don't use it. Immediately move it so that the children and teachers are all safe. If not, then we will continue to look at conditions like this," he explained.

While waiting for the results of the assessment, Ganjar asked that the cracked building not be used. He asked that the teacher's activities be moved to another building, or a safer emergency room was made.

"We have to move quickly so that when the children enter everything can be safe. We will continue to coordinate with the Regent, who will make improvements to make it faster," he said.

In addition to schools, Ganjar went to Wonogiri to see other places in Wonogiri that were affected by the earthquake. Among them are mosques, prayer rooms and people's houses.

"Later on, the junior high school, the Regent, whose place of worship is assisted by BAZNAS and the state SMA-SMK schools as well as the houses of residents that we handle from the province. We work together so that we can quickly respond to improvements," he concluded.
