The Peak Of Eid Backflow Today, The Number Of Passengers At Merak Port Increases

JAKARTA - PT ASDP Ferry Indonesia Bakauheni Lampung Branch, said the peak of the return flow of Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri will occur on Sunday (2/7), considering that a number of companies and offices have started working on Monday (3/7).

"The peak of the return flow for the Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri holiday is estimated on Sunday, because civil servants (PNS) and private companies on Monday (3/7) will return to work tomorrow," said General Manager of PT ASDP Feri Indonesia Bakauheni Branch, Rudi Sunarko, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

He said the increase in the number of passengers began to occur in D+1 to D+3 Eid al-Adha, but it was not too significant, therefore his party predicts that the peak of backflow will occur today.

Furthermore, for the number of passengers crossing to Merak Port on D+3 as many as 51,811 people, this number has increased from the previous day, which was only 40,903 people.

He said that the number of passengers was divided into two parts, namely pedestrians and in vehicles.

"For pedestrian passengers traveling to Merak Port, Banten, there were 3,896 passengers and 47,915 passengers in the vehicle," said Rudi.

Based on data from the Eid al-Adha 2023 Transportation Post at Bakauheni Port on July 1, 2023 at 08.00 WIB to 02 July 2023 at 08.00 WIB. The number of passengers heading to Java Island continues to increase.

He also said that not only passengers continued to increase, but the number of vehicles crossing also continued to rise.

"The number of vehicles crossing from Sumatra to Java is 10,819 units. That number has also increased from one day ago where only 9,290 units were," he said.

He explained that the passengers of the vehicles were divided into four vehicles, namely two-wheeled, four-wheeled, buses and large vehicle trucks.

"For the number of passengers using two-wheeled vehicles as many as 2,006 units, four-wheeled 6,469 units, 428 buses, and 1,916 large vehicle trucks," he said.
