GBK Merah Crowded With PDIP Cadres Ahead Of The Peak Of Bung Karno Month Event

JAKARTA - Thousands of people who are cadres to PDI-P volunteers (PDIP) began crowding the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on Saturday, June 24. They will attend the peak of Bung Karno Month (BBK).

Monitoring in the field, cadres and party sympathizers arrived at SUGBK using a bus that took them from outside the city, cars, to motorbikes.

"Everyone came happy. Some used motorbikes, some used ships, buses, all got ready with great enthusiasm at the peak of Bung Karno's commemoration, which is the biggest event since 1999," PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto told reporters in the SUGBK area, Saturday, June 24.

Hasto said PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri would deliver a political speech in front of thousands of her cadres. PDIP DPP Chairperson Puan Maharani and Ganjar Pranowo as presidential candidates and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will also give a speech at the event.

The highlight of the event will be held at 13.00 WIB. "Later of course (there is, red) a speech from Mbak Puan, from Pak Ganjar Pranowo then also from Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, and President Jokowi," said Hasto.

"This is a series of interesting activities to be packaged as a mirror of party consolidation," he continued.

Furthermore, Hasto said a number of invitations such as the general chairman of other parties would also attend. Among them are Acting Chairman of the Mardiono United Development Party (PPP), Chairman of the Hanura Party Oesman Sapta Odang, and Chairman of the Perindo Party Hary Tanoesoedibjo.

"And there are several party representatives such as Golkar, then there are PKB, there are PAN, and others," he said.

Meanwhile, from the Democrats, Hasto said that he had discussed the peak BBK event with the Secretary General of Democrats Teuku Riefky Harsya. However, he did not invite him to maintain political ethics because the party created by Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono had established political cooperation with NasDem and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) to carry Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.

"The important thing is that we communicate intensely and after this we will continue what has been done between Mbak Puan Maharani and Mas AHY," explained Hasto.

Previously, PDIP would hold a grand consolidation with the theme 'Grove the Hands of Unity for Greater Indonesia' on Saturday, June 24. Hundreds of thousands of party cadres bearing the bull symbol are expected to crowd the GBK area.

"So it is extraordinary that this activity will be attended by all participants from all over Indonesia who are assumed to reach 100 thousand people," said Chairman of the Bung Karno Month Committee, Rano Karno in a written statement, Wednesday, June 21.
