Farmers In Natuna Are Happy That Their Cows Are Purchased By Jokowi

TANJUNGPINANG - Suhendrik, a farmer in Harapan Jaya Village, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri) admitted that he was very happy because his cow was bought by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Alhamdulillah, I was happy and did not expect that my cow was chosen as the President's sacrificial animal," said Suhendrik as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 22.

The limousine cow that Suhendrik raises is 2.8 years old. The weight is about 750 kilograms, with a length of 1.52 meters, a height of 1.38 meters, and a chest circumference of 2.06 meters. The cow is claimed to be the largest and most dashing in Natuna.

Suhendrik said a team from the Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov) to the State Secretariat (Setneg) had gone down to conduct a survey and checked directly at the cattle coop near his home, Harapan Jaya Village.

"From the survey results, it is suitable and meets the requirements for President Jokowi's sacrificial cattle," he said.

Suhendrik said the President's sacrificial cow would be sent to Serasan Island, Natuna using sea transportation.

However, he has not been able to confirm the delivery time because he is still waiting for information on the ship's departure schedule to Serasan Island.

"This year's Eid al-Adha, President Jokowi sacrificed one cow to donate to residents on Serasan Island," he said.

Suhendrik said the price of his limousine cow was priced at Rp. 80 million. This price includes maintenance costs to transportation delivery to Serasan Island.
