DPRD Calls Ancol's Stalled Project Case Potentially Investigated By Law Enforcement

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ismail, sees that the case of a stalled project in the Ancol tourist area has the potential to be investigated by law enforcers such as the prosecutor's office to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This investigation, said Ismail, could be carried out if there were indications of state money losses, in this case the APBD allocation for regional capital participation (PMD) to Ancol as a regional-owned enterprise (BUMD). "If there are indications there, surely (it will be brought to law enforcement) because this is related to the use of money from the DKI Provincial Government, which in this case is managed by Ancol as one of the BUMDs," said Ismail at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Thursday, June 22. Starting the investigation of this case, Ismail said that Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD would propose the formation of a special committee (special committee) for Ancol's stalled project to the leadership of the council. In Government Regulation Number 12 of 2018, the special committee was formed in a plenary meeting at the suggestion of DPRD members. Most of the special committee members were formed on 25 people, consisting of members of the related commission proposed by each faction. "In this special committee, later we will dissect one by one the existing problems, so that later we can see the chronology from the start, the program idea was raised, executed until it did not continue, then saw which parties were involved, both from Ancol and like BP BUMD, Inspectorate, and so on," explained Ismail. Then, if the DPRD sees a potential for misappropriation of the APBD, the special committee will recommend that the DKI Provincial Government report this case to the authorities. "Indeed, the DPRD has its limits. Maybe it is only limited to recommending a mitigation process, then it may be handled by law enforcement," he said. On Wednesday, June 21, Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD held a working meeting with the directors of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol and the DKI Regional Owned Enterprise Development Agency (BP BUMD) with a busy project clarification agenda discussed.

Based on a report from the Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Winarto in yesterday's meeting, there were four problems with stalled projects, ranging from cooperation in apartment construction with Crown, hotels with Marriot Group, development of Sea World with PT Sea World Indonesia, and construction of BTO Music Stadium at ABC Mall with PT Paramitha Bangun Cipta Sarana.
