Holding An Indonesian ID Card, Lecturer In Tulungagung Turns Out To Be A Singaporean Citizen

JAKARTA - Blitar Immigration Officer detained MB (66), a male, a Singaporean foreigner. MB, who is a lecturer in Tulungagung, apparently has an ID card and an Indonesian KK.

MB entered Indonesia using a Singapore passport with a visit visa to continue SI and S2 education at one of the universities in Indonesia.

While in Indonesia, MB already has Indonesian population documents with two identities with the initials Y, born in Pacitan, February 9, 1973 and MB was born in Kampong Pachitan Off Changi Rd S'pore on September 25, 1956.

MB is known to use Y's identity to have three passports issued in Malang and Kediri Immigration.

In addition, it is also known that MB has never obtained a valid citizenship status based on Law Number 12 of 2006 concerning Citizenship.

Head of the Blitar Non-TPI Class II Immigration Office, Arief Yudistira, said that MB had been in and out of Indonesia for a long time. In fact, it has been recorded that it has been 10 times back and forth to Indonesia.

"Entering Indonesia since 1984, so it has been a long time. The person concerned has been in and out of Indonesia 10 times," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 20.

In 2007, MB married an Indonesian citizen, then also worked as a lecturer at a university in Tulungagung.

"Currently, immigration is coordinating with related agencies, because it turns out that the person concerned also gets population documents such as ID cards and families. We confirm with the Singapore Embassy, and it is confirmed that he is still a Singaporean citizen," said Arief Yudistira.

MB was given immigration administrative action in the form of detention in the detention room of the Class II Non-TPI Blitar Immigration Office. He has violated Article 8 paragraph (1) letter a and letter b of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
