Commission IX Of The House Of Representatives Holds A Working Meeting On Decision Making Of The Health Bill

JAKARTA - Commission IX of the House of Representatives held a Working Meeting on the Decision Making of the Omnibuslaw Health Bill (RUU) with a number of relevant stakeholders in the DPR building.

"This working meeting is a level I discussion of decision making against the Health Bill. This working meeting will listen to the opinions of the factions for further decisions," said Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives Saleh Daulay as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 19.

The Working Meeting agenda invited Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim, Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas.

Then the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Minister of Law and Human Rights Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly.

The working meeting was opened with the agenda of the report of the Working Committee (Panja) for the Health Bill, reading the script for the Health Bill, the final opinion of mini-fractions, the government's final opinion.

The agenda was continued with the signing of the Draft Health Bill, and decision-making to proceed at level II talks at the DPR RI Plenary Meeting.

Saleh Daulay said the next step, Commission IX will ask the leadership to ask the DPR to discuss it at the Deliberative Body (Bamus) to be continued into level II discussions. Level II discussions are decision-making at the plenary level.

Member of Commission IX, Irma Suryani, said the plenary meeting of the Health Bill is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (20/6).

The Raker agenda, which was originally scheduled to take place at 09.30 WIB, only started at 11.15 WIB.

The Omnibuslaw Health Bill is included in the DPR's priority national legislation program (Prolegnas) in February 2023. On March 7, 2023, the DPR submitted this bill to President Joko Widodo.

On March 9, 2023, the President appointed the Ministry of Health and related ministries/agencies to compile a List of Problem Inventory (DIM) from the government.

The discourse on the emergence of the Health Bill has actually been circulating since the end of 2022. But many consider the process of drafting a bill to tend to be rushed and minimal involvement of civil society.

Responding to public records and criticisms, the Ministry of Health then held a public hearing and socialization on March 13-31, 2023.

This socialization is aimed at professional organizations, civil society, and other related groups.

The submission of the DIM Draft Law on Health to Commission IX of the DPR took place on Wednesday (5/4).
