JAKARTA - The Riau Police have placed Kompol Petrus Hottiner Simamora in a special place (pathus). This is because this police officer is suspected of abusing his authority.

"Kompol P is suspected of violating the code of ethics regarding abuse of authority," said Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Nandang Mu'min Wijaya, to VOI, Saturday, June 10.

The abuse of authority of Kompol Petrus is related to the burglary of hundreds of millions which was dismantled by Bripka Andry.

Apart from Kompol Peterus, it turns out that there are 7 other Brimob members. They were served for 30 days in order to handle the code of ethics process.

However, regarding the timing of the ethics trial for them, Nandang could not confirm yet. The reason is that regarding this matter, the authority lies with the Lampung Police Propam.

"The data is still in Propam, one of which is AKP M. It has been placed in special placement for the next 30 days for the code of ethics process before being tried," he explained.

On the other hand, he said, the detention was on the orders of the Riau Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal to process and take action against members suspected of having problems.

"The Riau Police Chief will take firm action against members who commit violations, both ethical and other violations," said Nandang.

For information, Commissioner Petrus Hottiner Simamora was in the spotlight after Bripka Andry leaked the burglary by the Police officer. The amount is around Rp. 650 million.

In the aftermath, Kompol Petrus was removed from his position as Commander of the B Brimob Manggala Detachment Battalion, the Riau Police's Junction since March 2023.
