PBNU Values Jokowi's Is Reasonable To Maintain Stability

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf assessed that President Joko Widodo's political tweets were natural to maintain stability.

"We don't see the problems, yes. This is a matter of the President's efforts (Jokowi) to carry out the responsibility of maintaining stability. If you want to be seen from another point of view, yes, it's the president, if you talk to the coalition party, it's only natural about chaos," said Yahya Cholil at the Presidential Palace, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 9.

The man who is familiarly called Gus Yahya said there was no political discussion with Jokowi at his meeting, including the matter of clarifying the jokes that Jokowi has recently frequently conveyed on several occasions.

"No (talking jokes)," he added.

Jokowi last clarified about political jokes when he received the Presidium of the Islamic Student Association (KAHMI) Alumni Corps some time ago.

According to Gus Yahya, his arrival to meet Jokowi was to report on a number of PBNU agendas, including the idea of the Mashahat NU Family Movement as well as forums for interfaith and interculture dialogue to enliven the ASEAN forum in September.

"We ask the president for permission to hold this forum and he gives permission. Now we are ready for everything. We just asked for advice on the timing of the implementation, because we also hope that the president can open and give a key speech at the forum," said Gus Yahya.
