KAI Opens All Long-distance Train Service At Ciamis Station

CIAMIS - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) starting June 1 opens passenger ups and downs for all long-distance commercial train (KA) southern routes.

Previously, KAI only opened several economic class train services at Ciamis Station, Ciamis Regency, West Java. This service improvement is in order to serve the community for mass transportation needs.

"This is encouraging news for residents of Ciamis and people who want to travel to Ciamis, because there are more and more train choices going there," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daops 2 Bandung Mahendro Trang Bawono, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 1.

He said PT KAI starting June 1, 2023, officially added executive class commercial train services at Ciamis Station as a result of participating in the latest 2023 Railway Travel Graphics (Gapeka) replacing Gapeka 2021.

Currently, said Mahendro, new train services that raise and drop passengers at Ciamis Station, namely the Argo Wilis train for the Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng Station (PP) connection, the Turangga train for the Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng (PP) connection, and the South Kutojaya train for the Kiaracondong-Kutoarjo Station (PP) connection.

"KA Lodaya, which has stopped for a long time, also has executive classes, although it is mixed with the economy, only for Argo Wilis and Turangga, all of whose series of executive classes are new," he said.

Mahendro said there were 24 commercial train trips that stopped at Ciamis Station, with the addition of train trips that would provide options for Ciamis residents in their mobility activities using train transportation.

The addition of the train travel schedule is to provide the best service, so that KA continues to be an option for public transportation.

Especially at Ciamis Station, he said, it is hoped that this will facilitate access to public transportation which will ultimately accelerate economic growth in Ciamis Regency.

"Hopefully, the increase in trains that stop at Ciamis Station can facilitate the mobility of Ciamis residents and help move the Ciamis economy," he said.
