After Candidates For Hajj Pilgrims, Batam Mayor Leaves Prayer

Mayor of Batam Muhammad Rudi released the pilgrims who were leaving for the Holy Land, Saturday, May 20. On this occasion, Rudi asked for prayers from the congregation.

He hopes that the congregation can pray for the economy in the area to increase so that it can prosper the community.

"We hope that the prayers of a person who goes on a pilgrimage will be answered. Pray for the people and the nation of Indonesia, especially Batam City, so that it is safe, peaceful, the government is running well, the economy in Batam is increasing," he said.

He also reminded pilgrims to maintain stamina while in the Holy Land so that they can carry out the entire series of Hajj services properly and smoothly.

"Because Hajj is one of the physical worship activities, we must prepare this physical and master field problems, so that they are safe and peaceful and can carry out the pilgrimage properly. No matter how small the problem there, they must be ready and must be told so that something new for them will not be awkward," he said, as quoted from Antara.

On the same occasion, Deputy Governor of Riau Islands Marlin Agustina appealed to the congregation to prepare physically well.

"In addition, please straighten out your intentions again. We pray that the congregation can carry out the entire series of pilgrimages well and get a large pilgrimage," he said.

He also asked the congregation to help each other while in the Holy Land.

"Empower each other between congregations. And the officers are requested to be able to provide the best service for the pilgrims. Take care of your health," he said.

Head of the Batam City Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Office Zulkarnain said pilgrims from the area during the 2023 Hajj season were divided into three flying groups (kloters), namely two mixed groups and one complete group.

"The city of Batam is divided into three groups, namely groups 1, 3, and 5. The first batch will fly on May 24, then group 3 departs on May 25 and group 5, which is full for all 369 pilgrims in Batam City," he said.
