Aldi Taher Registered With Perindo-PBB, KPU Analysis Of Dudity Of Candidates In Registration Will Be A Legislative Candidate

The General Elections Commission (KPU) stated that it is analyzing the potential for a doublet of candidacy in the registration of prospective legislative candidates (caleg) by political parties participating in the 2024 General Election.

"Regarding allegations (of multipliers) for legislative candidates, as widely circulated in the public, the KPU is currently verifying the administration and analysis of multipliers," KPU member Idham Holik told reporters in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.

The next step, said Idham, is that the KPU will submit the results of the verification and administration to related political parties on June 24 and 25, 2023.

Previously, news circulated about the multiplicity of candidacy in the registration of prospective legislative candidates (caleg) in the 2024 election involving a number of names, including former Purwakarta Regent Dedi Mulyadi who was suspected of being registered as a candidate for DPR member from the Gerindra Party and the Golkar Party.

The Golkar Party registered Dedi as a candidate for DPR RI member from the party to the KPU at the KPU office, Jakarta, Saturday (13/5).

On Sunday (14/5), the Golkar Party registered Dedi as a candidate for DPR RI member to the KPU.

Apart from Dedi, there is also artist Aldi Taher who is suspected of being registered as a candidate for member of the Indonesian House of Representatives by Perindo as well as a prospective member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the Crescent Star Party (PBB).

In this regard, the DKI Jakarta KPU asked the prospective legislative member Aldi Taher to choose between registering as a member of the DPRD or the DPR RI.

"We ask the party that proposes it to clarify and later what party to choose from because it cannot be registered in two political parties," said a member of the KPU for Technical Affairs for the Implementation of the Nurdin Election.
