Complaints On Severe Damaged Roads In South Lampung Ahead Of Improvements Worked On By The Center Starting June 2023

LAMPUNG - President Joko Wododo has announced that the central government will take over road repairs in Lampung after a working visit to the area earlier this month.

It is planned that the road repair project in Lampung will only be held in June 2023. Before the repairs were carried out, residents complained about the road in Palas District, South Lampung Regency, which was badly damaged.

Based on observations, the condition of the axis road in Palas District, which is a connecting access in Palas, Candipuro, and Kalianda sub-districts, is badly damaged along about seven kilometers.

Rheo, a resident of Palas District, hopes that the local government can immediately repair the road whose condition is very badly damaged.

"The road is concerning, mas, the hope is that it will be repaired soon. As a result of the condition of the road filled with blocks, the activities of the community are hampered," said Rheo, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 19.

He said the seven-kilometer journey had to be taken in more than an hour.

"The road has been damaged for more than 5 years, but there is no sign that the government will repair it," he said.

Yudi, a Siomay trader who crosses the route every day, said that as a result of the damage to the road, many road users were injured on the route.

"In addition to frequent accidents and broken tires, the damaged road is very difficult for us traveling traders, sometimes our merchandise spills due to slippery roads when it rains," said Yudi.

Imron, a logistics car driver who often crosses the road, hopes that the Regional Government will continue to repair the road, due to the high mobility of economic movements on the road.

"Hopefully, it will be repaired soon, because the road is passed every day by carriers of produce, logistics, and other foodstuffs," said Imron.
