Choices Can Be Different But There Should Be No Division

JAKARTA - MPR Deputy Chair Yandri Susanto invites village heads and RT/RW administrators to maintain the unity and cohesiveness of residents in the midst of differences in political choices ahead of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"The choice may be different, but there should be no division. The difference in color is normal," Yandri said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 15.

He said the village head and RT/RW administrators were at the forefront of maintaining harmony and peace that directly came into contact with the community.

Ahead of the democratic party, the political temperature in the country will continue to increase. Therefore, Yundri reminded that the role and awareness of the community, especially RT/RW administrators, is needed to maintain the conditions of a supportive social environment.

He also said that approaching the voting day, more and more legislative candidates would come to the community. He also advised the public to accept all legislative candidates well, be friendly, and remain wise.

"Keep the friendliness during the political year. If someone comes, handle it well; while it's a matter of choice, it's a matter of the heart," Yandri ordered.

He also invited RT/RW administrators to prioritize devotion and sincerity in carrying out their duties.

The work carried out by the RT/RW management is very difficult and often becomes a place for complaints and targets of mistakes, even though they are not the ones who do or who must be responsible.

"We do have security forces, but without the presence of the RT/RW management we will never feel calm. Therefore, never get tired of serving, intend to worship, so that what we get is not only for the benefit of the world, but also for the affairs of the afterlife," he said.
