Medan Polrestabes Failed To Smuggle 41.5 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine

Medan Police have thwarted the smuggling of 41.5 kg of methamphetamine, in the period April - May 2023.

"The disclosure of this narcotics case takes place from April 17 to May 6, 2023," said Medan Police Chief Kombes Pol Valentino Alfa Tatareda as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 14.

In the disclosure of the drug case, officers arrested four suspects, namely a woman with the initials R (30) then three men namely H (40), D (30) and M (19).

On April 17, the police arrested Jalan Sunggal and Jalan Gatot Subroto, with one suspect with the initials R (30) evidence of 2.5 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

In addition to thwarting the circulation of 41.5 kg of methamphetamine, in the last month April-May 2023 Medan Police also arrested 342 street bandits.

Valentino said the 342 street bandits consisted of cases of theft and violence (curas) 15 suspects, theft of motorized vehicles (curanmor) 25 suspects, theft with weight (curat) 85 suspects.

Furthermore, cases of sharp weapons with seven suspects, severe abuse with nine suspects and 200 cases of thuggery.

"For the other 200 people, this is thuggery and we are also carrying out guidance to thuggery," he explained.

The police chief explained that of the 342 suspects, 82 of them were minors.

"This is our concern too, we get this from public reports. Many are involved in the activities of motorcycle gangs, we are resistant who violate the provisions of carrying sharp weapons. We urge parents to take care of our children," said Valentino.
