22 Villages In 7 Districts In Nagan Raya Aceh Soak Floods

A total of 22 villages spread across seven sub-districts in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, were hit by floods with water levels reaching one meter after heavy rains hit this area since the last few days.

"The cause of this flood was due to heavy rains and strong winds that hit Nagan Raya Regency," said Head of the Nagan Raya Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Irfanda Rinadi as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, May 7.

The flood that hit 22 villages in Nagan Raya Regency, he said, was due to the overflow of the Krueng Kulu River.

Floods submerged villages in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, including Kuta Teungoh Village and Babah Suak. In East Seungan District, floods submerged Blang Bayu Village, Krueng Kulu Village, and Peulekung Village.

In Suka Makmue District, the flood submerged Gampong Blang Muling and Gampong Lhok Rameuan. Then in Tadu Raya District, the flood submerged Gampong Alue Bata, and in Kuala Pesisir District, the flood submerged Langkak Village and Lueng Tengku Ben Village.

Irfanda said that in Darul Makmur Subdistrict, floods submerged four villages including Puloe Tengoh Village, Alue Geutah Village, Kuta Trieng Village, Gulangan Gajah Village.

Meanwhile, in Tripa Makmur District, Nagan Raya, floods submerged eight villages consisting of Gampong Panten Pange, Gampong Ujong Krueng, Gampong Mon Dua, Gampong Neubok Yee PP, Gampong Neubok Yee PK, Gampong Pasi Kebeu Dom, Gampong Kabu, and Gampong Lueng Kebeu Jagat.

"Until now, we, together with officers in the field, are still collecting data on flood victims," said Irfanda.

His party also continues to try to coordinate with relevant agencies, so that it is hoped that the handling of people affected by the disaster can be handled properly soon.
