Ganjar Pranowo's Determination And Spirit Brings The Party To Win The Membara Election In The Consolidation Of The East Java PDIP DPD

JAKARTA - The determination and burning spirit will continue to be displayed by the prospective Indonesian Presidential Candidate from the PDI-P, Ganjar Pranowo. He emphasized that PDIP will win the presidential election (pilpres) as well as the general election of legislative members (pileg) to the village level throughout the country.

He conveyed this spirit while attending the consolidation of the East Java PDIP Regional Leadership Council (DPD) at a hotel in Surabaya, Saturday, May 6.

"We are determined to win the election next year, both the legislative and presidential elections," said Ganjar when met after attending the party's consolidation.

Every matter discussed in the consolidation, he said, would be followed up with efforts to detail the winning strategy by the central party ranks.

According to him, the party bearing the white banteng logo was determined to win to the village level throughout Indonesia.

Ganjar, who is currently the Governor of Central Java, said that the consolidation which was held in East Java would start a similar stage in all provinces in Indonesia. The atmosphere of party cadres in East Java, he said, is believed to be transmitted to other regions.

"Other DPDs are ready and have conveyed to me, such as South Sulawesi, Bali, North Sumatra, and West Java. The feeling is that in East Java others will immediately move," he said, as quoted from Antara.

Ganjar appreciated the enthusiasm shown by cadres in East Java in welcoming the political party which will be held next year.

"I thank you, it turns out that the consolidation is extraordinary, beyond what I thought. It turns out that the enthusiasm of all the amazing management," he said.

He continued, "Hopefully this consolidation of the strength we have for us can get maximum results."

Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates will be from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
