Ambon City Government Guarantees No Extortion Of Licensing Management

JAKARTA - The Ambon City Government guarantees that there will be no illegal levies (extortion) in public services such as licensing. "I emphasize that the city government guarantees that there will be no more illegal levies or extortion practices in public services, namely the licensing process, or other financing outside the applicable regulations," said Ambon Mayor Bodew Wattimena in Ambon, Antara, Thursday, May 4. He stated that this was the commitment of the Ambon City Government to create State Civil Apparatus that was authoritative and with integrity in providing the best service for the community. "As government officials, we must be able to be good examples in carrying out our functions and roles as agents of change," he said. The Ambon City Government always strives to improve the quality of public services in terms of certainty of the licensing process, transparency of timeliness and security and comfort for business actors in carrying out business activities. Human activities, in various sectors, are experiencing changes, as well as in the public service sector carried out by the government through integrated online services, namely OSS, which is an electronically integrated business licensing system. The system aims to provide convenience in the licensing process and provide certainty of doing business for business managers. A business license is a legality granted to business actors and must be owned to start and run a business in accordance with Government Regulation Number 5 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Risk-based business licensing. As well as Government Regulation Number 6 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of business licensing in the regions. In addition to providing easy licensing for the Ambon City Government through the Investment Office of One Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) Ambon City, it has launched the issuance of 1,000 Business Identification Numbers (NIB) for Micro and Small Business Actors (UMK) in Ambon City.
