Istora Senayan Begins To Be Crowded With Labor Masses

JAKARTA - Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, has begun to be crowded with mass workers who are members of the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI) to commemorate International Labor Day (May Day).

The workers were compact wearing t-shirts and carrying an orange flag that read "FSPMI" entering the sports hall.

In addition, there are also workers who rest near the micro, small and medium enterprise kiosks (MSMEs) and the grass yard across from the building.

Two giant posters as high as the Istora Senayan building which read a number of demands have been installed since 10.05 WIB.

Not only that, but the orange poster also surrounds the fence around Istora Senayan close to the pedestrian path.

Police officers have been on guard from the entrance of Gelora Bung Karno to the Istora Senayan building to carry out security so that the workers' actions run in an orderly and smooth manner.

"We came here from 8 am, we are also here demanding our right to make a living," said one worker at the location, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 1.

Commemoration of International Labor Day on Monday (1/5) took place with several gathering points, starting from City Hall continued to the State Palace and Constitutional Court Building, to Istora Senayan by holding the "May Day Fiesta 2023" activity.

"One of the activities in May Day Fiesta is the Marsinah Theater and the Performers of Music," said the President of the Labor Party and President of KSPI Said Iqbal in his statement.

It is stated that as many as 50 thousand workers attended the commemoration of International Labor Day or May Day.
